Finding well-fitting shoes for growing feet can be tricky. Children’s shoes need to provide enough room for natural movement while also being practical, comfortable and durable enough for everyday adventures.

TT Kids is a children’s footwear brand with a focus on barefoot principles — and they have something particularly interesting coming soon.

I’ve been exploring the TT Kids Simone, and the brand is also preparing to launch new barefoot shoes featuring their innovative reflexology-inspired insole, launching at the end of summer 2026.

TT Kids Simone

The Simone is a barefoot shoe designed to allow children’s feet to move naturally.

It has the features I’d look for when choosing barefoot footwear for children, including a foot-shaped toe box, zero-drop sole and flexible construction.

Giving children’s toes enough room to spread is particularly important. Rather than forcing growing feet into the shape of a conventional shoe, barefoot footwear aims to allow the shoe to follow the natural shape of the foot.

The Simone is also a lovely everyday style, making it an option for children who need something practical but don’t want a bulky or overly sporty-looking shoe. It is available in EU sizes 20-30 and comes in pink, violet, and navy.

Coming Soon: The TT Kids Reflexology Range

And this is where things get really interesting.

Launching at the end of summer 2026, the new TT Kids range will introduce something different to the brand’s footwear range: a reflexology-inspired insole.

TT Kids Aspen Reflexology Boot

The Aspen combines barefoot footwear principles with an insole designed to provide additional sensory stimulation underneath the feet.

It’s a concept I haven’t seen widely used in children’s barefoot footwear, so I’m particularly interested to see how it works in practice. The reflexology insole will also be available in the Dinotop and Dakota ranges.

What Is the Reflexology Insole?

The insole features raised areas underneath the foot, inspired by reflexology.

Reflexology is based on the traditional concept that different areas of the soles of the feet correspond to different areas of the body. The TT Kids design includes a visual representation of these areas, including areas associated with the lungs, stomach, liver, kidneys and intestines. Reflexology posits that stimulation in these areas of our soles can improve the health of the corresponding organs.

The textured insole is covered with small raised reflexology points, which provide gentle pressure and sensory stimulation under the feet as children walk. Rather than being a completely flat insole, the raised points create areas of contact against the sole with each step, giving a subtle massage-like feel while maintaining the flexibility and natural movement associated with barefoot footwear.

It’s important to distinguish between the traditional principles of reflexology and established medical evidence. The insole shouldn’t be considered a treatment for medical conditions or specific organs. Instead, the really interesting aspect for me is the sensory experience.

Why Is Sensory Feedback From the Feet Interesting?

Our feet are packed with sensory receptors, constantly sending information to the brain as we walk, run, jump and balance. This is one of the reasons I find barefoot footwear so fascinating. A flexible, foot-shaped shoe allows children to move their feet naturally, while a thinner sole can allow them to experience more information from the ground beneath them.

The raised areas of the reflexology-inspired insole add another sensory element. Rather than simply having a completely flat surface underneath the foot, children will experience different contours and sensations as they move.

Barefoot First, Reflexology Second

For me, the important thing is that the refelexology range are still a barefoot shoe. The reflexology element is an additional feature — it isn’t what makes the shoe barefoot. When I’m looking at children’s footwear, I still want to see:

  • 👣 A foot-shaped toe box
  • ↔️ Plenty of room for the toes
  • 📏 Zero drop
  • 🦶 A flexible sole
  • 🏃 Freedom for the foot to move naturally

This brings the reflexology-inspired element on top of those barefoot principles.

When Does the Reflexology Range Launch?

The end of summer 2026.

My Thoughts on TT Kids

I think it’s great to see children’s footwear brands exploring new ideas while keeping the fundamentals of good foot-shaped footwear in place.

The Simone is a straightforward barefoot option for everyday wear, while the upcoming Aspen takes things a step further with its reflexology-inspired insole.
